Sam Billings signs new contract at Kent

SAM Billings has extended his stay at Kent with the England wicketkeeper signing a new deal.

The length of the 24-year-old’s new contract at Canterbury has not been disclosed, and he puts pen to paper having scored 693 runs at an average of 29.80 in Division Two in 2015.

It completes a memorable few months for Billings who played five one-day internationals and five t20 internationals after making his England debut in June last year.

Kent chief executive Jamie Clifford said: “It is pleasing that we now have a solid core of players on longer term contracts and I think it points to an exciting future.

“With players vying for international honours, it is a competitive environment and one that is hungry for success.”
