MIDDLESEX have landed an embarrassing blow to the ECB’s plans for a new eight-team T20 tournament by publicly stating their opposition to the move.
Five clubs – Sussex, Somerset, Yorkshire Leicestershire and Derbyshire – have confirmed they will back a proposed change to the ECB constitution that would, for the first time, give the goahead to a new competition not involving all 18 first-class counties.
