ED SMITH will be unveiled as England’s new national selector today – with the job of leading the recovery from their Ashes winter nightmare.
The 40-year-old former England batsman will replace James Whitaker, who left the position in March. Smith beat a number of high-profile names to the role including former England head coach Andy Flower, Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell and The Cricket Paper columnist Derek Pringle.
