ED JOYCE has played a part in Ireland’s Test history – now he’s looking to help take them onto the next level.
The 39-year-old played in last week’s historic first ever Test match for the Emerald Isle when they took on Pakistan in Malahide.
But yesterday, the former Middlesex and Sussex batsman announced his retirement from all forms of international and domestic cricket to take up a new role overseeing leadership development and as a batting coach in the Irish performance system.
