THE manufacturers of the Zing wicket system admit they are at a loss to explain why there have been so many instances of the bails not being dislodged during the World Cup.
Batsmen have been reprieved on five occasions so far during the tournament after watching the ball cannon into the stumps and the bails remain in place.
But the International Cricket Council insist the Zing bails that light up when removed are lighter than traditional wooden alternatives.
