JOHN Dempster remains confident Mansfield can win promotion this season.
The 36-year-old, who landed the manager’s job when David Flitcroft was sacked in May, had managed just two wins going into Saturday’s game at Port Vale.
Dempster saw the pressure on him increase when the 10-man Stags were thumped 4-0 at home by Cambridge in midweek, and he said: “I understand the frustration and stick, but some of the comments are ridiculous and I think I deserve more respect for my service to the club.
“I still believe the boys can get us promoted.”
