The has acknowledged ‘s appeal over their two-point deduction for a slow over rate which sealed their relegation in the .

Middlesex lodged an appeal on the 29 September after the controversial decision to hand ‘ side a points deduction when their match at was abandoned after a crossbow was fired onto the square.

The abandonment meant the visitors were unable to recover their over rate and defeat at on the last day of the season meant they were relegated from Division One.

A decision is likely to be made by the end of next week and may have repercussions for the season’s outcome with just one point separating Somerset from Middlesex.
