England’s Cricket World Cup Final set to be shown on Channel 4.

Channel 4 are set to show the World Cup final after ‘s against Australia yesterday.

Sky had previously confirmed that they would show the World Cup Final on a free-to-air platform if England reached the final.

Channel 4 coverage of the final is set to start from 9am with the final being moved to More 4 at 1.15pm for the British Grand Prix before switching back to Channel 4 after the race. The final will also be made available on Sky One.

The decision will ensure that an England international will be broadcast live on free-to-air for the first time since the 2005 .

Sky and chief executive Stephen van Rooyen is happy to see the final free-to-air stating: “England in the final on home soil is a huge moment for in this country and we are proud to be the host broadcaster.

“Thanks to our strong relationship with Channel 4, we are partnering to make the game available to everyone, so the whole country can get behind England, and be part of a special national sporting event.”

England captain also described the decision to have the final on free-to-air as positive news.

“Throughout the whole summer, the game was on the front and back page of every going around, everyone was talking about and that is really good for the game and it’s the game I love, so it’s great news that it’s on free-to-air.”
