The Last…

Bat you bought/used?

A Slazenger V12, about ten years ago.

Song you downloaded?

One Kiss, the new Calvin Harris one. Top of the charts at the moment so that goes in my book.

Five-wicket haul?

I took one at Durham in 2012. It’s been a while but I remember taking 5-40 there. It’s always helpful for the seamers so an enjoyable place to play.

Injury?

I tore my groin last year and sat out for five weeks. Not too bad, but bad enough. I’ve been quite fortunate with injuries across my career though.

Trophy won?

The T20 Blast in 2015. It was the first time Lancs had won it and everyone involved has very fond memories of that year. We didn’t do too well in the group stages but it all came together on Finals Day.

The Jury’s Out

Tea or coffee?

Coffee.

Last meal if you were on death row?

I’d order a Dominos pizza, large one. Go all out.

50 over, T20 or County Championship?

I’ll go for Twenty20. It’s probably not the format I’m best at, but it’s my favourite. It’s just more entertaining, there’s more going on and more anticipation around the average game.

Caribbean with the missus or Magaluf with the lads?

Caribbean with the missus, although I’m not sure I can get away with saying anything else.

Time added on…

Who did you support as a boy?

I supported Oldham Athletic growing up and went to games. They’ve just been relegated from League One this season so it’ll be a long summer. As a lad I always followed Lancashire and went to a fair share of games at Old Trafford.

Best coach you have ever played with?

Peter Moores. He’s enthusiastic and always got you up for the start of play. Motivation can sometimes be a problem in county cricket but never when you’re playing for him. David Ripley is also a good bloke.

Who’s the most nervous when next into bat?

My dad, without doubt. He tries to get to games but his nerves get the better of him all the time! Being in Oldham, he hasn’t been down to Northampton as much but has visited a couple of times.

Person to avoid after being dismissed? No-one in particular. People are quite chilled and there’s generally no great drama. Ben Duckett had a couple of moments this season and can be a bit hot-headed.

Which TV pundit do you really listen to and who do you struggle with?

Rob Key has been good since starting at Sky, he talks a lot of sense and it’s not all about him. Athers I don’t listen to as much. He’s a Lancashire legend so I’ll probably get it in the neck, but I find him quite boring!

Hobbies?

I was a keen rugby player for many years, but have given that up now. I played at Oldham St Anne’s and a bit of regional stuff as well. I’m also a big walker, I get up to the Lake District as much as I can.

And finally

Who is the worst dressed in the team?

Richard Levi. He just wears shocking clothes every day, no dress sense whatsoever.
