LEICESTERSHIRE seam bowler Charlie Shreck has denied that he “threatened to kill” Loughborough University opener Hasan Azad.
Shreck, 39, was banned for the opening two County Championship matches of the new season after being reported by umpires Steve O’Shaughnessy and James Middlebrook following an incident against Loughborough.
Leicestershire were also deducted 16 County Championship points for repeated disciplinary offences due to it being the county’s fifth offence in 12 months, which automatically triggers the punishment.
