Five-year ban for PSL spot-fixer

PAKISTAN batsman Sharjeel Khan has been banned for five years for his part in a spot-fixing ring at the Pakistan Super League – though he will appeal.
Sharjeel, 28, has played one Test match as well as 25 ODIs and 15 T20Is for his country, but a Pakistan Cricket Board tribunal handed down the punishment following a hearing, though two and a half years of the ban is suspended.
He will therefore not be able to play domestic or international cricket for the next two and a half years, after which his return will be closely monitored, the tribunal said.
