ESSEX’S title was secured last Friday when Somerset completed a seven-wicket win over Lancashire at Taunton.
Resuming on 247-8 and trying to set a meaningful total to keep their slim Championship challenge going, the Red Rose were plucked by Craig Overton in the morning for the addition of only 22 more runs.
That left a regulation chase of only 68 as for relegationthreatened Somerset.
