CURRENT T20 World Cup champions West Indies hit ‘bottom’ according to head coach Stuart Law as New Zealand piled the runs on and stifled the tourists’ batsmen with an ebullient Colin Munro and cunning medium pace from their attack.
The first T20 in Nelson saw New Zealand outplay their opponents in all aspects.
By the time Munro (53) and rookie Glenn Phillips (56) were out New Zealand were 118-3 with 38 balls remaining. But the Windies bowlers curbed the run rate only to unravel in the last over.
