SUCH is the speed that modern cricket moves – and so many games do England now play – that Haseeb Hameed’s debut series against India now seems like something from a bygone age.
England held the Ashes, Alastair Cook was England captain and, after becoming the first teenager to score two Test fifties for his country, Hameed looked like the answer to his country’s seemingly unending search for an opening partner for the skipper.
