MICHAEL CARBERRY has only been at Leicestershire a matter of months – but he’s now been instilled as their new captain for the coming season in all three formats of the game.
The former England opener, 37, only arrived at Grace Road on a full-time basis in September following his release from Hampshire.
But now he has been chosen by head coach Paul Nixon to lead the team in the County Championship, One-Day Cup and T20 Blast.
Carberry averages 41.18 across his first-class appearances and has accumulated more than 22,000 career runs between all three formats.
