FOR a fresh-faced 18-year-old who announced himself on the county stage in spectacular style this season, Henry Brookes is very unassuming about his rise to prominence.
The Warwickshire allrounder was called into the side for his first appearance of the season for the visit to Northamptonshire, following injuries to Keith Barker and Olly Stone.
He seized his opportunity with both hands – taking three wickets with the ball and scoring 70 in a ninthwicket partnership of 117 with Tim Ambrose – and he hasn’t looked back since.
