ALEX Hales has defended his decision not to play County Championship cricket.
Hales signed a two-year deal last winter to only play in limited-overs games for Nottinghamshire.
The decision upset some Nottinghamshire supporters but Hales is adamant that the decision was the right one for his career as he looks to secure a spot in the England side for next year’s World Cup.
Hales said: “I definitely understand where fans are coming from. The thing is, it’s uncharted territory in England. No one had done it before me and Rash [Adil Rashid] made the decision.
