THE England and Wales Cricket Board is believed to be planning a series of trial matches in September as it decides on the best format for its new 100-ball-a-side competition.
The latest plans for the ECB’s new competition – due to be introduced in 2020 – could involve 20 five-ball overs, instead of the traditional six, to be bowled in blocks of ten deliveries from each end.
