JUST three matches took place in the Second XI County Championship this week.
Leicestershire featured twice in what has been a busy August for their seconds.
They were denied an exciting climax in their match against Lancashire with rain ending play early at Blackpool as both sides settled for ten points in a draw.
But they finished their Championship season on a high with a win over Derbyshire at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield. Sam Evans made 135 before being run out – a knock that provided the majority of Leicestershire’s first-innings runs....
