Making the grade: England opener Jason Roy
IF someone had told Jason Roy when he arrived on these shores as a 10-yearold that he would one-day spearhead a World Cup campaign for his adopted country, you would probably have received an odd look.
Now, though, almost 20 years on, he’s not only gearing up to play a key role in England’s quest to lift a global 50-over trophy for the first time, he’s also potentially in-line to open up for Joe Root’s side as they attempt to put the Aussies back in their place at the end of the summer.
