MATT LAMB’S maiden first-class ton against county champions Essex last week has given the Warwickshire man confidence to stake his claim for the number five spot in all three formats.
Wolverhampton-born Lamb’s innings of 173 earlier this month allowed the Bears to post their highest home score in over four years and enforce the follow-on. It showed his growing ability to bat long periods after initially forcing his way into the side in 2017 as an aggressive middle-order batsman.
