ICC chief: We had to move the World Cup

ICC chief executive Geoff Allardice has revealed they had no option but to move the men’s T20 World Cup from India to the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Allardice was adamant that the tournament had to be played between the original dates of October 17 to November 14.
With India unable to guarantee they could stage the tournament due to Covid, the decision was made to make the switch.
Allardice said: “Our priority is to deliver the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 safely, in full and in its current window.
