Northants’ Ripley to quit after 39 years

DAVID Ripley says it was Northamptonshire’s poor form in this season’s T20 Blast which prompted his decision to resign as head coach.
Northants finished bottom of their group and for Ripley that was a sign to call it quits.
Ripley has been at the club as a player and coach since 1982, succeeding the late David Capel as coach in 2012. During his time in charge, he won two T20 Blasts and twice led the side to promotion.
