Regional women's cricket bowed out last weekend with the final of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, won by Sunrisers.
The game went not with a bang but a whimper as only a handful of fans watched a match eventually curtailed by early autumn rain.
However, it did complete a redemption arc for a side who have been statistically the worst of the era.
Sunrisers beat South East Stars at Grace Road, claiming their first and only title in a regional competition. Led by Kate Coppack’s four wickets and Cordelia Griffith’s half-century, they reached 121-3 by the time the rain came down. ...
