India will surely not host this year’s T20 World Cup due to the Covid-19 crisis, which prompted a postponement of the IPL.
Of course, the mighty BCCI is digging its heels in. The ICC board, according to sources, had previously resolved that if the situation had not improved in India by April then the T20 World Cup would be played in the UAE.
There was a strong feeling at an urgent June 1 board meeting, according to sources, that it should not be played in India but ultimately the mighty BCCI does what it pleases and no decision was made.
