For Sussex batsman Tom Haines, it was always cricket – there was never a plan B.
The 19-year-old had the professional game in his sights early on, and his determination was rewarded with his first contract last year.
A fixture in Sussex academy teams since the age of ten, Haines owes much of his progress to Nick Creed, his coach at Hurstpierpoint College in Horsham.
