Gritty innings: Rohit Sharma excelled
ROHIT Sharma owns the record for the highest individual ODI score in history, so when Virat Kohli describes the opener’s matchwinning knock against South Africa as his best innings by far, you know it was special. Back in 2014, Sharma bludgeoned a ridiculous 264 from 173 balls against Sri Lanka but whereas that was flashy destruction, his unbeaten 122 off 144 to get India’s 2019 World Cup campaign off to a winning start by six wickets was gritty accumulation.
