Just for once, after Edgbaston, no-one came out with the usual tosh about taking the positives. How could they? It was awful. Dreadful. Appalling.Toe curlingly bad. Okay, England weren’t too good either, but it’s the umpiring we’re talking about here.
Maybe we should set fire to Aleem Dar’s beard, place the ashes in a very small urn, and put them on display in the MCC museum. And present them at the end of every England v Australia series for the worst decision of the summer. The Shakoor Rana Trophy has got a certain ring to it.
