I CAN’T leave you without a quick revisit to last week’s column, as our game continues to lose its battle against slow over rates.
You might recall the absurd example of India’s women in Bristol last week, where they were eight overs short of the mark on the opening day then a further eight from the target in a single session on the second as they refused to hurry up. I foreshadowed that, of course, they would be sanctioned in the usual (albeit insufficient) way via a match-fee fine. But guess what? I can reveal that they weren’t. No further action.
