Mark Watt, Derbyshire’s left-arm spinner, cut a relaxed figure ahead of the T20 Blast opener against Lancashire at Edgbaston on Saturday.
Watt, who spent the winter with Scotland and then with the Manchester United’s Glazer family-backed Desert Vipers in the International League T20 (ILT20), was talking about his football loyalties.
The 26-year-old left-arm spinner’s winter could hardly have gone better. At the T20 World Cup, he delivered a match-winning spell of 3-12 against the West Indies, although that was followed by defeats at the hands Ireland and Zimbabwe.
