As he approached his 75th birthday, Ray Garner realised he was becoming stuck in a rut. A primary school head teacher of 21 years and later a management coach, more recently Ray had devoted his time to caring for his wife, who sadly passed away two-and-a-half years ago.
“You put so much into virtually 24-hour care that you actually forget how to go out and enjoy yourself,” he tells The Cricket Paper. “I recognised I could be getting into a rut and was looking around for something to do.”
