It is all very well agreeing a “direction of travel” but what happens when you have very different destinations in mind?
The English seaside is littered with resorts first created to exploit the rapid development of railway travel in the late nineteenth century. However, the upper classes never wanted to mix with the hoi polloi so they repaired to the first class carriages and got off at Lytham not Blackpool, Hove not Brighton, Westcliff not Southend.
