There was a time when Luke Fletcher’s preparation for a cricket match famously consisted of two paracetamols and a double sausage and egg McMuffin.
In those days, he combined Notts Premier League cricket for Papplewick and Linby with a social game on a Sunday. Growing up, football had been his main sport. He turned out for Nottingham City Boys at Wembley and scored a long-range volley in a schools’ final at Old Trafford.
