Lancashire have confirmed Josh Bohannon and Rob Jones have signed new two-year contract extensions with the club that will see the pair play at Emirates Old Trafford until at least the end of the 2020 season.
All-rounder Bohannon made his Red Rose debut in all three formats this summer and was named the Club’s Breakthrough Player of the Year at the End of Season Awards, for his performances which included a match winning 78 not out against Worcestershire at Southport.
He played in the last five County Championship matches and scored two half-centuries in a haul of 255 runs and claimed five wickets.
The 21-year-old from Bolton, who came through the Lancashire Cricket Academy, signed his first professional contact ahead of the 2018 campaign.
Bohannon said: “I am delighted to sign a new contract with my home county.
“To make my debut in all three formats this summer was really special for me. It means so much to me playing for the county I’ve grown up watching and supporting and now it’s about building on that and trying to cement my place in the side next year.
“After speaking with Glen and the coaching team, there’s an opportunity for me to try and take the role that Jordan Clark has done so well in recent years – a fourth seamer and batting at six or seven – and I’m determined to make that position my own.”
Jones, aged 23, made his Lancashire debut in 2016 against Surrey before hitting his maiden first-class century in his third match against Middlesex at Emirates Old Trafford in the same year.
The Warrington-born batsman is also a product of the Lancashire Academy and played a crucial role in the side that was victorious at Second XI T20 Finals Day this summer.
Jones commented: “It’s a great feeling to secure my future at Emirates Old Trafford with Lancashire.
“I absolutely love pulling on the Red Rose jersey and representing this Club. The next step for me now is to establish myself in the side and help the Club secure promotion at the first time of asking next season.”
“We have some really talented players in the squad and we all want to be pushing for silverware. It’s an exciting time to be part of this side.”
