Middlesex sign 2018 star bowler to long-term extension

James Harris has signed a new long-term contract with Middlesex after hitting the 60-wicket milestone in 2018.

The 28-year-old’s team-leading tally of 61 wickets won him the club’s Player of the Year award and the new deal will see him continue to play his cricket at Lord’s until the of the 2021.

“I am thrilled to sign an extension to my contract with this great club,” Harris said.

“I have loved my time playing here to date and am very excited about the next three years.”

Middlesex’s managing director of cricket, Angus Fraser added: “During a difficult year for the club James was outstanding in 2018.

“I am delighted he has furthered his commitment to Middlesex. As well as being a fine cricketer he is a top man. Every club in the country would want a number of players possessing his characteristics and values.”

Harris joined Middlesex from Glamorgan in 2014 and has gone on to amass over 250 wickets in all formats. Proving most prolific last season when taking 61 wickets in Division Two at an average of 20.54.

Under new head coach Stuart Law, Middlesex will be hoping to improve on their fourth-place finish.
