The Indian Premier League has started with plenty of entertaining matches. The scoring has been high, the tempo has been great and we’ve seen some great fielding as well. Even though the matches are missing the passionate home Indian fans, the on pitch action is making all the fans sit up and enjoy every single match.
At it currently stands the Mumbai Indians lead the Indian Premier League winning three of their five matches. They have played one more than their nearest rivals, but the favourites for the tournament have looked impressive so far.
Dehli Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the teams with the joint best record so far in the Indian Premier League as they both have won three of their first four matches and losing only once. Dehli Capitals especially are the team who have impressed the most and they would be the top pick of the likely winners so far.
The team who were tipped to impress are the Chennai Super Kings and they have won only two of their first five matches and will need to improve to have any chance of making the knock out stages and win the Tournament.

Looking at the matches on Sunday 4th October and the title favourites and many tipsters top Cricket pick to win the tournament won well against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians scored 208 runs for 4 wickets were electric with the bat.
Quinton de Kock scored 67 runs and had support from many of his team mates who all scored double figures. The 2nd highest scorer was Ishan Kishan with 31 runs in quick time. A total of 14 6’s were scored for Mumba Indians as they blasted their way to victory. Sunrises Hyderabad tried to challenge the total but only managed 174 runs for 4 wickets.
In the other match Chennai Super Kings got back to winning ways in great style. After a few early losses they really needed a win and they got it in style. Kings XI Punjab scored 178 runs and then the reply was something special. Chennai didn’t lost a wicket and scored 181 with incredible innings from both Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis. 22 4’s and 4 6’s were scored as both players hit the ground running and were unplayable. Should Chennai keep this type of batting performance up then they could muster a challenge.
We have to mention the team with the best record in the Indian Premier League to date and that is the Dehli Capitals. They scored a massive 228 in their match against Kolkata Knight Riders and top scorer was Shreyas Iyer with 88 followed by Prithvi Shaw with 66 runs. In return Kolkata played well but only managed 210.
The other team who have been impressive are Royal Challengers Bangalore and they were in action on Saturday 3rd Ocotober in a surprisingly low scoring match up. They scored 158 for 2 wickets with great innings from Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli. These two players were instrumental in the victory for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the match and are in fine form. They are the key players who will have to remain playing great cricket for them to mount a serious challenge to win the Tournament. In the bowling department Yuzvendra Chahal was the key player taking 3 wickets in the match and crucial to securing a victory.
Looking ahead there are some great matches coming up with new favourites for the Tournament Dehli Capitals facing Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore against Chennai Super Kings. The current holders Mumbai Indians are still favourites according to SBR for back to back success and 3/1 (4.0) to land the title again. Next up are the Royal Challengers Bangalore at 4/1 (5.0) and then come the Dehli Capitals at 9/2 (5.5).
There isn’t a lot between the front three in the market as they are all looking impressive with the bat and ball and when they meet in the knock out stages it will be very close to see who comes out on top.
