Dire predictions have been made following England’s even direr performance in the first Test against Pakistan at Lord’s, concerning the immediate future of coach Trevor Bayliss.
At least one of Fleet Street’s great organs has gone so far as to say that his next Test, i.e. this one at Headingley, could be his last.
Assuming the powers that be were content to split the job in two, and that he wants to carry on doing it, there is no threat to his position...
