Then throw in the number one and two counties of the last two seasons – and, of course, the carrot of creating their own little piece of history – and you have a serious showdown on your hands. Essex and Somerset lock horns at the Home of Cricket this week in a bid to be crowned the first – and perhaps maybe the only – Bob Willis Trophy champions.
