DEAD last in the County Championship and out in the group stages of both the T20 Blast and the One-Day Cup – 2016 was an annus horribilis for Derbyshire.
But the last few months have seen a drastic overhaul at the county, both on and off the pitch, and the return of Kim Barnett should herald brighter days ahead.
Both Graeme Welch, and his mid-season replacement as head coach, John Sadler, have departed and Barnett is in as the new director of cricket.
