HASHIM AMLA described his journey with South Africa as a “joy and a privilege” before hanging up his batting gloves this week.
Amla’s decision to step from the international game marks the end of a glittering career that spanned nearly 15 years and yielded 9,282 Test runs at 46.64 with no fewer than 28 centuries to his name – a record bettered only by Jacques Kallis.
The 36-year-old also enjoyed a limited-overs career which left several national white-ball records in his wake.
