ENGLAND were thankful to a composed innings from Liam Livingstone after overcoming a major scare in Cardiff to seal the T20 series against Sri Lanka with a match to spare.
Set just 112 to win, the hosts were struggling on 36-4 of the chase on a slow, used pitch after the dismissals of Jason Roy, captain Eoin Morgan, Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow.
But a 54-run fifth-wicket stand between Livingstone and Sam Billings got the reply back on track either side of a rain break that reduced England’s target to 103 in 18 overs.
