A ‘tremendous fight’ sees Middlesex home

GOOD times have been rare at Middlesex so victory over Leicestershire against the odds tasted even sweeter.
This was only the Seaxers’ second Championship win of a desperate summer, which has seen them firmly rooted to the bottom of Group Two.
When captain Peter Handscomb pulled out following a positive Covid test and in-form batsman Stevie Eskinazi picked up a groin injury, home fans feared the worst.
Sam Robson posted an excellent 154 before an all-too-familiar Middlesex collapse set the hosts back.
