THE absence of Ben Stokes has completely overshadowed the build-up to this Test series between England and India that starts in Nottingham on Wednesday.
There’s no doubt that Joe Root’s men will be affected – on and off the field – by the news that the all-rounder, who is the heartbeat of this team, has had to take an indefinite break from the game to look after his mental wellbeing and rest his injured finger.
