Bell: Our Joe was back to his best

FORMER England batsman Ian Bell says Joe Root’s knock at Trent Bridge yesterday was one of the most fluent he has ever played.
Root’s battling 109 has given England a chance of claiming something from the first Test with India and Bell, who scored 7,727 Test runs himself, believes the England captain deserves huge credit – especially for the way he played the Indian spinners on a turning Trent Bridge pitch.
