WELSH FIRE finished their season impressively by beating London Spirit in Cardiff in a nailbiting final match of the group stage on Wednesday.
Glenn Phillips hit a violent 80 off 35 balls as Fire chased 164 with two balls to spare.
Fire got off to a bad start, falling to 2-2 and 20-3 before Phillips got going and at one stage he looked set to become the first player to score a hundred in the Hundred.
