OLLIE Pope lapped up the opportunity to feast in the Oval run glut.
England’s most exciting young player cracked a career-best 274 as Surrey and Glamorgan’s batsmen made the most of a featherbed, one which will doubtless give bowlers nightmares for the winter.
Acting captain for the match, he led them to 722-4 in reply to Glamorgan’s 672- 6dec before the match passed quietly away.
