IT has been party time in a small corner of Southampton this week after Calmore’s National Village triumph at Lord’s on Sunday.
The Southern League side beat Alvanley on Duckworth Lewis after rain intervened at St John’s Wood.
The Calmore side, which included former Hampshire Press officer Will Brewster, chased their target of 112 in 18 overs to claim their first title – and Mark Lavelle, the club’s captain, tells The Cricket Paper that the match is one that he and his team-mates will never forget.
