LEG-SPINNER Wanindu Hasaranaga has retired from Test cricket to focus on the white-ball game.
The 26-year-old is a key part of Sri Lanka’s white-ball set-up but played the last of his four Tests in April 2021.
All four of his wickets in the format came on debut against South Africa in December 2020; the same match saw him hit a 53-ball 59, his highest Test score.
“We will accept his decision and are confident that Hasaranga will be a vital part of our white-ball program going forward,” said Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva.
