Mildenhall upset champions Swardeston on opening day

SWARDESTON GOT their East Anglian Premier League title defence off to the worst possible start after going down by 27 runs to Mildenhall at The Common.
Chasing 256 to win, the champions were bowled out for 228 with Jack Loveday taking 4-31 as Sri Lankan overseas player Saranga Rajaguru’s 53 went in vain.
Earlier in the day, Darren Ironside made 79 and captain Tristan Blackledge 46 as Mildenhall posted 255-9 from their 50 overs. Callum Taylor took 4-44 for Swardeston.
