Pakistan scrap to win over Ireland

IT’S BEEN an underwhelming World Cup for both Pakistan and Ireland, and that was summed by up a scrappy dead-rubber in Lauderhill, where Babar Azam steered his side to a three-wicket victory.
Ireland, who failed to win a match in the tournament, made an awful start after being asked to bat, slumping to 32-6 after Shaheen Shah Afridi (3-22) decimated their top order.
A seventh-wicket partnership of 44 between Gareth Delany (31 off 19) and Mark Adair (15 off 19) saved them from total humiliation but left-arm spinner Imad Wasim (3-8) dismissed both and then snared Barry McCarthy ...
